Gulf of Fonseca

The Gulf of Fonseca is an important part of Nicaragua because of its shipping ports. The Gulf of Fonseca is a tourist attraction in Nicaragua because of its breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and its views of wildlife. Such as birds, dolphins and many different kinds of fish. It has many different ports but the main port of the whole gulf is Puerto Morazán because it is the biggest and most efficient one of them all.. The gulf is an inlet of the Pacific Ocean that is 40 miles from the mainland. It is bounded by El Salvador, Honduras, and also Nicaragua. The Gulf of Fonseca is a medium sized body of water with an area of 700 square miles. It is fed by many different rivers but the main ones are Goascorán, and Choluteca. The gulf and its ports are mainly run by the locals who also offer tours of the gulf. Inside of the gulf, there is an island called Zacatillo which is almost fully designated to fishing and is also run by the locals. It is a very special experience because of the amount of fish that surround the island.
